'Criminal Minds' season 11 cast news: Marisol Nichols returns as Agent Colfax in episode 15; Aubrey Plaza guest stars as Reid's dangerous date
"Criminal Minds" season 11 returns in less than a week. Aside from the much hyped date that Dr. Spencer Reid will go to, another memorable female character is set to make an appearance and it's someone fans have already met – FBI Agent Natalie Colfax.
TV Line reported that Marisol Nichols will reprise her role as the Los Angeles-based FBI Agent and will once again team up with the BAU team to take down an elusive killer.
Viewers were first introduced to Agent Colfax in this season's second episode. In "The Witness," the BAU were called to Los Angeles after a city bus was attacked with sarin gas. Agent Colfax worked with the team to apprehend the culprit before another attack was launched.
Nichols, who also played Tony DiNozzo's girlfriend in "NCIS," confirmed her return to the popular series on Twitter.

The 42-year-old actress will be seen again in episode 15 when the BAU returns once more to Los Angeles. According to reports, the profilers believe that several women found dead inside their own homes was the work of an unsub who earned the women's trust first before murdering them. Colfax and the BAU team will again work together to search for the killer.
But before Nichols' return, the BAU will be going up against a strong-willed and devious woman named Cat Adams, who also happens to be Reid's date. Played by "Parks and Recreation's" Aubrey Plaza, the character mysteriously knows that Reid works for the FBI. More alarmingly, she has also planted a bomb that can take out the restaurant they're in if Reid loses the game she has put into play.
"Criminal Minds" season 11 certainly has seen its fair share of great recurring characters and guest stars. Aside from Plaza's turn as Reid's latest adversary and Nichols' two-episode run as Agent Colfax, fans have also become familiar with Joy Struther (Amber Stevens), Rossi's daughter, and Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler). The rest of the season will hopefully introduce more.
"Criminal Minds" season 11 will be back on CBS on Jan. 13.
