The four new maps are categorized into Cryogen, Berserk, Rumble, and Empire. The Cryogen is an isolated cryo-prison located in the Dead Sea. It holds some of the world's most dangerous criminals in a frozen state.

The Empire is a re-imagined "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" classic Raid, which remains one of the fan favorites in the series. It is set in an authentic Roman Villa owned by an eccentric billionaire. The location enables all kinds of gameplay.

Aside from the four new game maps, a new origins character will also be introduced to the players. The new chapter is called "Gorod Krovi" and the setting is in Russia during the World War II. However, the events take place in an alternate timeline wherein Element 115 wreaked havoc in a place where mechanized soldiers and deadly dragons controlled by Group 953 exist.
