'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' DLC 3 Descent release date and game overview: what to expect

PlayStation 4 gamers will soon be able to get to play the latest "Call of Duty" game when "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" DLC 3 Descent becomes available on July 12. PC and Xbox One console owners would have to wait for the format to be available in August.

The upcoming DLC is described as "an all-new mind-bending Zombies experience along with 4 action-packed Multiplayer maps." It will also introduce a new Origins characters through the "Gorod Krovi" story arc.

"Gorod Krovi" is an alternate universe set during Wold War II in Stalingrad. The destruction is brought about by Group 935 with the use of Zombie-causing Element 115. Aside from the fighting off zombies, players will also be faced with mechanized soldiers and dragons.

The four maps are broadly divided into Cryogen, Berserk, Rumble, and Empire. Cryogen is located far off the coast in the Dead Sea. It is an isolated circular compound containing frozen criminals. Players will have to outwit the guards who watch over from the Sentry Towers.

Berserk is a frozen Viking Village whose entrance is guarded by ancient sentinels. Players navigate the wooden building and craggy rock outcroppings through the Center Bridge filled with blizzards. Rumble is set in a stadium where players get to face off with mechanized warriors in the arena.

From "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" Raid map comes Empire, which is a fresh upgrade of the fan favorite feature, chained movement system. The map is set is an eccentric billionaire's Roman Villa where all kinds of gameplay may be used.

In order for Descent 3 to work, only the basic "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is required and is sold separately. Players may choose from a wide range of characters with different personalities and voices. Each character has his own weapons and abilities, making one's multiplayer gaming experience more personalized.
