The members of the famous a cappella group Pentatonix will guest star on the penultimate episode, titled "The Strike in the Chord," of the 11th season of the crime procedural drama "Bones."

The Jeffersonian team probes the death of the leader of a male a cappella singing group called "The Whippersnaps" from Lynwood University. The dead body was discovered in the university's rat lab. The initial investigation reveals that the murdered victim recently booted Ian Jansen out of the group. Ian is one of the group's best singers. So, the team sends Booth and Aubrey to interrogate Ian and other members of the a cappella group.

Aside from The Whippersnaps, their competing female a cappella group will also be sent for questioning. Both groups will be asked on how they handle the groups' dynamics and the possible reason for the murder. Then, a surprising information about Aubrey's own college experience is brought to light. Meanwhile, Hodgins registers to an experimental nerve regeneration study, and Booth attempts to arrange a summer trip with Parker. A new intern, on the other hand, joins the Jeffersonian lab.

The promo trailer for "The Strike in the Chord" shows the two competing a cappella groups from Lynwood University. The Whisppersnaps are in the midst of practicing their piece when FBI barged in to interrogate them. However, one secret may jeopardize the entire investigation.

In the sneak preview of the upcoming episode, Camille and Bones are seen examining the murdered victim's body. They find out that the victim has ulcer and has been through a lot of stress. Then, Ms. Mills joins them in the lab in examining the dead body.

Meanwhile, the previous episode, titled "The Fight in the Fixer," saw the team investigating the dead body of a private investigator who was found frozen in ice. It was revealed that the victim used to work as a fixer to resolve his clients' "problems."
