'Bloodline' season 3 update: Producers mum on season 3 plot
Netflix doesn't release their numbers, so it's very hard to figure out the real reason as to why the streaming giant decided to cancel "Bloodline" after only three seasons with the network.
The series was initially renewed for a third season back in July, but come September, Netflix revealed that the upcoming season 3 for "Bloodline" will be the last for the drama. There has been speculation that one of the main reasons why Netflix cancelled the series was because Florida, the state where the series is produced, has cut their incentives program, making it more expensive to make the series.
In an interview with Variety, "Bloodline" executive producer Daniel Zelman revealed that the initial plans for the series was that it will have around six seasons, so it is not known how the third season of "Bloodline" would end to neatly tie all loose ends.
So far, "Bloodline" producers Zelman, Todd A. Kessler, and Glenn Kessler have kept mum on what can be expected of the third season, although fans are expecting that more sinister family secrets will be unveiled.
Not everything is bad news for the series, however, as Ben Mendelsohn was recently given a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Danny Rayburn in "Bloodline" after being nominated for the award twice. This is the first Emmy Award for Mendelsohn.
His co-star, Kyle Chandler, was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series, but was not able to take home the prize. Chandler has been nominated for the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series five times, and won once for his portrayal of Eric Taylor in Friday Night Lights in 2011.
"Bloodline" is the third of Netflix's original series which has been cancelled by the streaming giant.
There is still no official premiere date for "Bloodline" season 3, but it is expected to be released around mid-2017.
