Twins David and Jason Benham, stars of the "Flip it Forward" reality TV show, reacted nonchalantly to news that the Home & Garden Television (HGTV) had pulled their show that was scheduled to air this fall.

"If our faith costs us a television show then so be it," they were reported to have said. The twins said they were saddened to hear about HGTV's decision.

"With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television, you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals."

The twins are graduates of Liberty University, a Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Although HGTV gave no official reason as to why it cancelled the show, its decision followed a rising tide of criticism from gay rights activists who accused the Benhams of being anti-gay and pro-life. Media reports said the show was yanked by HGTV after comments made by the twins were published on rightwingwatch.org.

"One of the things that's important is that never have I ever spoken against homosexuals as individuals and gone against them," David Benham said in an interview with CNN.

"I speak about an agenda and that's really what the point of this is, that there's an agenda that's seeking to silence men or women of faith."

The Benhams are Christians whose father pastor Philip "Flip" Benham. The elder Benham is the national leader of Operation Save America, a pro-life group based in Concord, North Carolina.

HGTV announced that the cancellation of the Benham brothers' show by tweeting: "HGTV has decided not to move forward with the Benham Brothers' series."
