Even as NVIDIA announced the new graphics processing units (GPUs) based on the Pascal architecture, a lot of gamers were waiting to see what the company's partners will come up with in terms of products. They were not disappointed when Asus announced the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Strix GeForce GTX 1080 GPU and it turned out to be even faster than the Founders Edition GTX 1080 which was announced by NVIDIA. Now, as reviews have started to arrive for the ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080, it is clear that this particular offering comes with a lot of power.

Reviewing the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080, IGN states that one of its best elements is the Aura lighting available. This particular lighting was described as something akin to a futuristic array and that gaming enthusiasts who have invested a lot in their computers will be very happy with it. Additionally, the connectivity options provided on the ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 is also called out in the review and the dual HDMI slots are given full marks. The presence of two DisplayPort connectors is also described as a plus point for this particular graphics card and they will enable two GSync monitors to be connected.

However, it is the performance of the ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 that attracts attention as it is billed as being 5 percent faster than the Nvidia GeForce 1080. As for clock speeds, when the ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 was announced, it was touted to have a base speed of 1,759 MHz and a boost speed of 1,898 MHz. Coming to the overclocked version of the Strix GeForce GTX 1080, it has a base clock of 1,784 MHz and a boost clock of 1,936 MHz. This particular overclocked edition is therefore 12 percent faster than the Founders Edition of the GTX 1080 which was announced by NVIDIA.

More importantly, the ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 from Asus has already started to arrive in the market and gamers who have been investing in it have stated that they are happy with its performance. They also outlined that games such as "Assassins Creed Syndicate" can run at 76 fps on average.
