Apple iOS 10 release date: public beta expected in July before the release in fall
During the recently held Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple talked about the upcoming iOS 10. Users will get to experience the major changes brought about by the upgrade in July when a public beta will be made available prior to its official release in fall.
Among the major changes the operating system brings is that it allows users to get more personal with their messages. iOS 10 allows the user to send messages through writing so what appears in the recipient's screen is the handwritten note from the sender. Messages also come to life according to how the sender wants his message to come across. All caps is no longer necessary as the message bubbles do the trick.
Festive virtual celebrations are also made possible with the animations that show on screen when greetings such as "Happy Birthday" and "Congratulations" are sent. Creativity is further enhanced by the invisible ink where messages are revealed after the recipient swipes the screen, and icons and sketches could be added to messages as well. More stickers and emojis are also added.
The well-loved Siri is made to become a better companion as iOS 10 allows it to work some apps. iOS 10 also allows iMaps to suggest routes, as well make reservations from restaurants within the map and Uber rides.
Coming home is made more convenient as well as the iOS 10 includes a Home app that may be connected to control lights, doors, and windows. iOS 10 is compatible with iPhones from iPhone 5 model to iPhone 6s; iPads from iPad mini 2 to iPad Pro (both 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch models); and the 6th-generation iPod touch.
The public beta on July will allow Apple to work on the bugs to be reported two months before its final release. iOS 10 is scheduled to be launched in September together with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
