Android 4.4.3 update for Nexus 5 leaked in screenshots showing new dialer app design
The Android 4.4.3 update for the Nexus 5 was released on Sprint briefly being quickly pulled, leaving users frustrated.
However, new screenshots show that the update is indeed on its way.
Brand new leaked screenshots of the upcoming Android 4.4.3 update were revealed by a Googler on the XDA Developers forum, which shows a redesigned dialer app.
Android Police reports that the leaked screenshots were taken from a Nexus 5 running on the latest Android 4.4.3 firmware.
The latest KitKat firmware update will not bring major changes, but will also fix a number of bugs that have been frustrating users. This includes unstable data connections, random reboots, and improved camera function.
Last month, Google acknowledged the poor battery life of the Nexus 5, which saw the battery drain on the device. The issue was reportedly caused by the Android 4.4.2 build of the open source OS that gives apps access to the camera on the smartphone. The process, called "mm-qcamera-daemon", continued to run even when camera apps were closed, making the battery hot and drain rapidly.
Android 4.43 update will be the last update before Google rolls out Android 4.5, nicknamed Android Lollipop, with a revamped 2D design in July.
Google's own Nexus 5 is expected to receive the update first, followed by Nexus 4 and Nexus 7and Nexus 10 tablet devices.
