GMC has introduced the 2017 Terrain Nightfall Edition, which is set to make its debut at the 2016 New York Auto Show. The special Nightfall Edition not only gives GMC's SUV a striking blacked-out appearance but also the latest in-car technologies.

"Building on its best year ever, Terrain continues to attract new and style-conscious customers to GMC. The new Terrain Nightfall Edition adds another great-looking and well-equipped choice for this popular SUV — one that will stand out in a crowd," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing.

With the Nightfall Edition, the GMC Terrain SUV receives an exclusive and personalized new model, following the Canyon Nightfall Edition and the all-new Sierra All Terrain X models

The Nightfall Edition's blacked-out design gives the 2017 GMC Terrain an edgier and sleeker look. The front fascia features gloss black accents that complement the charcoal grille, which also has a gloss black surround and accents. The outside mirrors, luggage rails, and rear license plate are also in gloss black. The Terrain SUV also receives 18-inch aluminum wheels with gloss black spokes. Inside the cabin, a 7-inch GMC IntelliLink infotainment system is standard. It can be availed with 4G LTE connectivity and WiFi hotspot.

The Nightfall Edition will be available for the SLE-2 and SLT models. Customers can choose from four different exterior colors — Summit White, Onyx Black, Graphite Gray Metallic, and Crimson Red Metallic.

The Terrain comes standard with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft. of torque. Customers can also opt for a 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 301 horsepower and 272 lb-ft. of torque.

Standard safety features include a six air bag system and a rearview camera. The following can also be availed — Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Park Assist.

The 2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition will be available to purchase this fall 2016. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
