Xbox One backwards compatibility news: 'Blue Dragon' confirmed
Xbox One users are waiting for new titles that will have backwards compatibility for the month of August. There are reports saying that Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, has revealed which Xbox 360 game will be capable of backwards compatibility for Xbox One.
Spencer had an exchange of tweets with another user in Twitter. The user was wondering if "Blue Dragon" would be the next title to become part of the expanding library of backwards-compatible games. Unexpectedly, Spencer has confirmed that the Xbox 360 title will be made compatible for Xbox One. He replied to the fan, saying, "I'm not allowed to say but yes."
"Blue Dragon" was an Xbox 360 exclusive when it was launched in 2007. The video game was developed by Mistwalker back then. The title is a role-playing game (RPG) that focuses on the journey of five characters in stopping an evil ruler who has been spreading havoc across their world. The game was also inspired from the fictional world of "Final Fantasy" games.
In terms of gameplay, it is a single-player game where its combat is governed by the rules of a classic turn-based battle. However, the developers have tweaked the mechanics of the battle by also relying on the speed of the characters. If the speed of a specific adventurer is higher than the opponent, the fighter will have the upper hand by attacking first.
Another unique feature with how the game was played involved the charging of spells. In order for the player to use spells, it must be charged for a certain amount of time. If the gamer wants the magic to deal higher damage, the character's spell must be charged for a longer period of time.
The release date for the backwards-compatible version of "Blue Dragon" has not been announced yet. Players are anticipating the title will be launched before August ends.
