'X-Force' movie cast: Wolverine's female clone X-23 to make appearance?
With Hugh Jackman ready to retire from playing his iconic role of almost two decades, there is talk of possibly replacing the hole the clawed superhero will be leaving behind. X-23, Wolverine's female clone, is reportedly a topic of discussion right now. The female Wolverine may even make an appearance in another anticipated film, "X-Force."
According to director Bryan Singer when he talked to Fandango, "X-Force" is apparently already in the works. "I have discussed that with the studio," Singer shared, "I actually initially pitched the 'X-Force' and the female."
X-23 is the clawed female clone of Logan. She sports two claws emanating from each hand. And unlike Wolverine, she also has one claw on each foot. The added metal certainly makes her a fierce weapon.
As for who is working on "X-Force," Singer added that screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg is busy with its script, being in the "earliest script stage" as of the moment.
"X-Force" stems from its comic book counterpart, which revolves around Cable and his team of mutant superheroes. And it looks like they have plans for the film to be intended for more mature viewers, too. Kinberg revealed to Den of Geek that "X-Force" is a film that "probably should be R-rated."
He even expressed the studio's view when it comes to R-ratings.
"When there are films that want to be raunchier, want to be darker, want to be violent or R-rated, [Fox will] be open to it," he said.
It seems that a lot of people are working hard to make "X-Force" a reality. Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool in the movie of the same name, also feels very strongly about getting the wheels going on for the film. It seems that his character will also be deeply tied to the X-Force team, especially since Cable will reportedly be making his debut in "Deadpool 2."
Fans are undoubtedly excited about the potential film to come and the possible inclusion of a Wolverine replacement.
