Two of the biggest stars outside World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Bobby Roode and Eric Young, are now free agents after their contracts with Impact Wrestling, also known as Total Non-Stop Action (TNA) Wrestling, expired, and they might be headed to the big leagues.

According to Wrestling Inc., Roode and Young both signed their contracts with Impact Wrestling 12 years ago. The report added there are rumors linking the two to the WWE, where a number of their former colleagues at Impact Wrestling are already signed.

Samoa Joe and Austin Aries made a name for themselves during their stint with Impact Wrestling but are now in WWE's developmental territory, NXT. James Storm, also joined NXT last year but recently returned to Impact Wrestling. Rhino, a WWE veteran, also transferred to Impact Wrestling in 2005, but came back last year. Perhaps the biggest signing the WWE made so far this 2016 is the acquisition of A.J. Styles, who was a superstar in Impact Wrestling and the independent circuit.

If Roode and Young join WWE, the company will again be adding experienced veterans who are former champions, but they will likely be used first in NXT before heading to the main roster. NXT is accepted well by the fans since it offers less storyline and more action.

In a report on Impact Wrestling's website, Roode and Young's farewell messages were posted.

Roode thanked everyone he worked with in Impact Wrestling for 12 years and helped him live his dream, adding that it is time to move on.

Meanwhile, Young also expressed gratitude to Impact Wrestling and wished the best for the company.

It is still uncertain what Roode and Young are going to do next with their respective professional wrestling careers, but a move to the WWE might be the best choice for them. Roode is already 39 while Young is 36; closing their careers with the biggest wrestling company in the world is a great way for them to go out.
