WWE news 2016: Former tag team champions Primo and Epico making comeback
The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is going to welcome back former tag team champions Primo (Edwin Carlos "Eddie" Colón) and Epico (Orlando Colón), with a new vignette of them being showed on the recent episode of Monday Night Raw.
In the 45-second video, the beaches of Puerto Rico were captured while Primo and Epico were praising the island, calling it a paradise, and inviting everyone to visit the "Shining Star of the Carribean."
There was no information when the tag team will return, but their comeback might be happening soon with the WWE aiming to improve its tag team division.
The last time Primo and Epico graced a WWE ring, they were then named Diego and Fernando and were called the Los Matadores. The gimmick featured them as masked bullfighters and were accompanied by El Torito.
Now that they are repackaged again, they will be heading to a tag team division currently ruled by the New Day (Big E Langston, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) who are the tag team champs. The division is now stacked with talent and it makes the WWE universe wonder how Primo and Epico would figure in their comeback.
They need to stand out if they want to be noticed, although it will be harder since on the previous episode of Raw, another tag team arrived. Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, who thrived in the independent wrestling scene, especially in Japan, as members of the Bullet Club, made their WWE debut.
Anderson and Gallows attacked The Usos (Jimmy and Jay) after winning a No. 1 contender's match for the tag team championship and the crowd went wild.
Now the landscape of the division is more interesting with all these tag teams trying to find a way to the title, giving the WWE more matchup options.
