'Wonder Woman' movie rumors: Zack Snyder's dark theme evident in Warrior Princess' first solo live-action movie
Gal Gadot's standalone "Wonder Woman" film will still have the influence of director Zack Snyder, despite being under the directorial expertise of Patty Jenkins.
Reports claim that the cinematography of "Wonder Woman" will be dark, something that Snyder is known for. This is not really surprising, though, as, after all, Snyder's wife, Deborah, is one of the producers of the movie.
However, fans should not worry over the Snyder influence on the first-ever big screen live-action feature of the Amazonian Warrior Princess as it is only evident in the movie's cinematography. Reportedly, the movie will have its own personality that will set it apart from Snyder-directed movies as it will have a different tone and rhythm.
Snyder has been criticized for his too serious and dark take on DC movies, such as "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
Other reports claim that Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) will arrive at the Themyscira (Wonder Woman's and the Amazonians home paradise island) and realize that she can be of help in saving humanity. Hence, when she is finally brought to the outside world, Wonder Woman unleashes her Amazonian might and power in her fight for justice and protection of the innocent as she maintains her purity, goodness, and philanthropy. It is also said that the movie is neither romantic nor dramatic; rather, it boasts of action-filled scenes.
Earlier, Gadot already said that her "Wonder Woman" movie will be different from how the character was seen in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," adding that it will be more of a coming-of-age story for the Amazonian Warrior Princess as her origin and backstory are traced back.
"We go back 100 years to when she's more naïve. She's this young idealist. She's pure. Very different to the experienced, super-confident, grown-up woman you've seen," Gadot said in her interview with Digital Spy last April.
"Wonder Woman" arrives in theaters on June 2, 2017.
