The History channel hasn't set a date yet for the return of "Vikings," but fans are already anticipating what will come next in Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) saga. The Internet is rife with rumors that the fourth season of "Vikings" might see Ragnar taking a third wife while his son Bjorn steps up as the new king of the Vikings.

The Viking farmer-turned-king was initially married to the shield maiden Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). She left him and took their son Bjorn when Princess Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) arrived, pregnant with Ragnar's son. As predicted by the Seer, the two had several more sons.

However, Ragnar and Aslaug's marriage might end in season 4. There have been several reports as to how this will happen. Some are saying that it might be due to his affair with Princess Kwenthrith (Amy Bailey) or because Aslaug does not want to give back the power she wielded as Queen of Denmark during her husband's absence. Reports of a third wife for Ragnar has had fans wondering if it will be Princess Kwenthrith, as it has also been reported that the Viking king will be attracted to Yidu, an exotic Asian slave.

If Ragnar does get married again, it might be a pretty short marriage as it's been rumored that season 4 might be the last for Fimmel. The actor is reportedly more focused on a movie career right now, especially with the upcoming release of "Warcraft." There's also the fact that the character had sustained some heavy injuries in his siege of France.

But fans are assured that the show will still continue in the event of Ragnar's death. Reports have pegged Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) to be the new King of the Vikings in season 4. However, his reign is not secured as his brothers, Ivar the Boneless and Sigurd "Snake-in-the Eye," will reportedly also lay their own claim. Casting for those two characters, as adults, have not been made yet.

Aside from battling his siblings, Bjorn is also dead-set in killing his uncle Rollo (Clive Standen) for betraying his father and their people.

It appears that "Vikings" is headed for another intense and bloody season, but fans would have to wait until 2016 for the return of the historical drama.
