TorrentHound news: Website shuts down, follows Kickass Torrents and Torrentz sites

Another torrent site, TorrentHound, shuts down, following the voluntary exit of Torrentz.eu and the forced take down of Kickass Torrents (KAT).
According to TorrentFreak, TorrentHound has confirmed to them that they have decided to cease operations. This marks the third casualty out of the ten most popular torrent-sharing websites of 2016. KAT was the first to go in July when its owner Artem Vaulin was arrested, then Torrentz chose to follow in August.
The TorrentHound website started in 2007 and remained standing despite facing the usual woes of torrent sites, such as being banned in numerous countries and copyright laws. However, the owner recently stated that it is not worth it anymore.
"It's a combination of less traffic, less revenue and our bills piling up," said the founder, according to TorrentFreak. "Then add on constantly getting bugged by anti-piracy agents, just wasn't worth the headache anymore."
The statement follows their original message to the publication, which only read "Finito."
The report stated that this is the first time that this number of websites has shut down in such a short amount of time. Consequently, many torrent users are fearing for the fate of other websites, such as The Pirate Bay (TPB) and Extra Torrent.
TPB was previously brought down to its knees by law enforcements, giving up the top spot in the list of most popular websites. When KAT was taken down, traffic to the site surged, making it as one of the most visited torrent sites again.
Reports noted that it is highly likely that anti-piracy groups will turn their gaze towards TPB again, but Yibada reported that they seem confident that they will remain functional in the next 20 or 30 years.
Meanwhile, torrent users can get their fix from alternative websites. Apart from the two mentioned above, there is kat.am, which is a clone of KAT.
