'Tokyo Ghoul' season 3 release rumors: Anime's next season to arrive in winter

(Facebook/Tokyo Ghoul)"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is said to arrive this winter.

After it was reported earlier that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 would arrive next year, the latest in the rumor mill is that the popular anime series may head back to the small screen this coming winter season.

According to reports, there is a possibility for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 to air this winter as it is suspected that Studio Pierrot has felt pressured because of the clamor of the fans. After all, the manga origin of the anime remains to be one of the most popular in the bookstore shelves.

Apart from being rumored to arrive earlier than 2017, there are also rumors claiming that the upcoming season of "Tokyo Ghoul" may be darker and gorier as, reportedly, Madhouse Entertainment will be involved in its production. If the reports are true, then fans may, indeed, expect more bloody scenes in the anime as Madhouse Entertainment is known for creating anime shows that are dark and gory.

It is also said that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will be faithful to the events in its manga origin as, after all, its second season was heavily criticized for deviating from the storyline of its print version. In fact, it even came to a point where fans petitioned that the anime be rebooted by a different studio because of their disappointment.

In the event that the anime will, indeed, be faithful to its manga version, then, one of the things that fans can be certain about is that Ken Kaneki will have a new identity because of his amnesia following his defeat to Arima. This was featured in the manga version of the story in its chapters 88 and 89 issues.

There are also rumors claiming that Ken Kaneki will become the One-Eyed King, the leader of the ghouls, after Arima kills himself in order for Ken Kaneki to be eligible to hold the honor and distinction.

While the reports about "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 are nothing short of exciting, unfortunately, though, they are nothing but speculations at this point in time.

Will the anime return for its third season this winter? Fans can only hope and wait.
