"Titanfall" fans were probably expecting the second installment for the series to be announced at E3 early this month. Sadly, EA had a different plan for the event, as they are currently occupied with developing "Star Wars: Battlefront."

But fans need not be disappointed, as it can be remembered that earlier this year, Respawn Entertainment, developer of the "Titanfall" game has made an announcement that they are developing the sequel of the IP, as reported by Christian Today.

According to IGN, the sequel was first officially confirmed by Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella last March. "I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don't know anything about it, or... yeah. So we're working on a sequel. No official name yet, but we're working on that. That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It'll be multiplatform," Zampella said.

Fans, on the other hand, were expecting to see the release of "Titanfall 2" sometime this year as mentioned on Breathecast. But sad to say, that is not going to happen anytime soon.

During EA's investor call last May, EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen said that they will not be releasing the sequel this year. Jorgensen did however say this about the release window for the IP, "You should assume [Titanfall 2] is not in fiscal '16; it's more likely in fiscal '17."

As explained on IGN, EA's fiscal year 2017 runs from April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017. "Titanfall 2" would most likely be released during that window and will therefore not probably be released before April 2016.

The sequel, as stated on Christian Today, will bring new additions to the game including a whole new multiplayer support and a revamped single player campaign. Fans of the game can most likely expect more details at the next E3 2016.
