'The Winds of Winter' release date news, rumors: illustrated edition of 'GoT' to include 'TWoW' surprise?

(Twitter / The Winds of Winter)"The Winds of Winter" has long been anticipated by the fans of the book series and while many chapter of the book have already been shared, no release date has been announced.

Fans can't stop talking about "The Winds of Winter," especially as new reports are suggesting that an excerpt or a chapter from the highly anticipated book could be included in the illustrated edition of "A Game of Thrones."

In his most recent blog post, author George R.R. Martin revealed that the anniversary edition, which also happens to be a hardbound version, will be launched on Oct. 18 and is expected to sell massively from the day it releases.

Martin went on to tease that while he cannot provide personalized messages for all his fans, the books which will be sold at the Jean Cocteau Cinema Bookstore will come with his signatures.

It is worth noting that Martin did not specifically mention anything about "The Winds of Winter" in the said post, but one particular fan noted that while the world-acclaimed author will not include personalized messages for buyers of  "A Game of Thrones: The Illustrated Edition," there should be "a paragraph of prose from an unread chapter" in at least one of the copies to be sold so fans will want to buy the upcoming edition.

Since most fans have already read all the five books in Martin's hit "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, it's easy to conclude that the fan was referring to "The Winds of Winter."

Unfortunately, Martin has not responded to the fan's suggestion yet though miracles could happen and the author may decide to adapt the idea.

Meanwhile, the days seem to pass so slowly as fans wait for any official announcements from Martin regarding the release of "The Winds of Winter." Some believe that it won't arrive by the end of this year and will instead be out sometime mid-2017.

On the other hand, hopes are still high on the alleged late 2016 launch for the "ASoIF" installment that has taken years to write. Will Martin finally deliver "TWoW" this year?

For now, readers can only wait until Martin himself or any of his publishers make the announcement.
