'The Walking Dead' season 8 news, spoilers: Jeffrey Dean Morgan confirms Negan's appearance next season

So much has happened in "The Walking Dead" season 7, yet the show is still about to reach its halfway mark. It seems like all the intensity in the current season will not end when it reaches the finale, but will only follow through the next. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who portrays antagonist and Saviors leader Negan, will still appear in the eighth season of the series.

(Facebook/TheWalkingDeadAMC)"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.

"I know I will be on board for Season 8," Morgan revealed in an interview with "The Howard Stern Show."

Negan is considered as the most feared villain on the series. Morgan previously hinted that Negan's reign of terror will not be ending in the current season as his character might be taking more lives in the seasons to come. The actor confirmed that he will make it through season 7 after they wrapped up filming for the current season a week ago.

Aside from confirming his part in season 8, the actor teased the final two episodes of the show before it reaches the midseason break. The penultimate episode will air this weekend. And based on what Morgan said, viewers will be seeing a lot of action and Negan in the episodes to come. "The next two, I'm really big in," he said.

The upcoming episode, which is titled "Sing Me a Song," is about two key characters. Fans of the Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" comic book series would know that this will be about Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Negan.

To recap, Carl was on his way to the Saviors' home, which they call The Sanctuary. Fans are expecting a confrontation to occur. But this hasn't been confirmed yet. On the other hand, fans can look forward to an in-depth view of the world of the Saviors.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs on AMC on Sundays at 9 p.m. EST.
