"The Walking Dead" returned on Feb. 12 for the second half of season 7. While the events in the first half of the season were generally quite dismal for fans, it looks like season 7B is off to a good start.

The title for the upcoming episode, "New Best Friends," suggests that the new aggressors might soon be Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) allies. The synopsis for episode 10 reads, "While searching for a missing Alexandrian, Rick and his group encounter a mysterious collective, its inhabitants unlike any they have come across."

Rick's exchanges with one of the aggressors in the new trailer suggest that the newfound survivors could actually join his group in their war against Negan. "We own your lives. Wanna buy them back?" a member of the group tells Rick in the clip. "The Saviors, they own our lives. And they will come looking. But there is a way out," answers Rick.

Just as the trailer for the midseason premiere had revealed, episode 9 saw the people of Alexandria planning to forge alliances with other groups so they could take revenge against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The episode ended with Rick's group surrounded by members of a new group of survivors, but while they were far outgunned and outnumbered, Rick seemed rather relieved than distressed to have come across the new aggressors.

The new survivors were not Saviors, but they were armed. BGR noted that one possible reason Rick was grinning amidst being cornered was because this newfound group had the weapons they needed to fight Negan's group.

Meanwhile, the trailer also shows that Daryl (Norman Reedus) will finally be reunited with his beloved weapon, his iconic crossbow. The last time his crossbow was shown in the series, it was in the clutches of the high-ranking official of the Saviors, Dwight (Austin Amelio).

"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
