'The Walking Dead': Glenn's Death and how it played out

To say that Glenn's death on the most recent "The Walking Dead"
episode is shocking, is an understatment to say the least. Fans of the
series who are familiar with the graphic novel it was based from are
already aware that the show has taken some liberties in deviating from
canon. In the novel, Glenn has been dead for a really long time and his
death on this week's episode threw everyone in for a loop.
The episode saw Glenn, together with Rick, Michonne and a number of
Alexandrians, trekking through the woods back in AlexandriaZombies
approached the group and unfortunately their encounter was met with
many casualties. Barnes was killed, Scott and Annie were injured,
David is bitten by a zombie, and Sturgess ran away in fear. Rick asked
Glenn to lead everyone back in Alexandria while he diverges from the
group. Glenn together with the others reached an abandoned town and
started looking for vehicles for them to use.
Since Nicholas is familiar with the area, Glenn and Nicholas looked
for an escape route while the others rest in a pet store. While
looking for a route, a group of zombies approach their way, trapping
Glenn and Nicholas in an alleyway. As Nicholas fears zombies he
chooses to commit suicide rather than to escape. This causes Glenn to
catch Nicholas' body and fall off the dumpster to the group of
zombies. As the zombies approach them, Glenn screams for his life but
he is eaten alive.
The scene was shocking and it is nothing short of a cliffhanger.
However it seems like Stephen Yeun, the actor who plays Glenn already
hinted that the current season might be the end for his character.
Back in April, Yeun coyly teased the possibility of Glenn's death
during the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Show. Yeun said
that if Glenn's time on the series will come to an end he will accept
it; Yeun believes if the show's writers decide to eradicate his
character; it will be significant to the series. Yeun said,
"The way that we make the show — the writers and everybody really want
to focus on making things poignant and purposeful and meaningful... so
if it were for Glenn to go, then it's probably going to be awesome."
