'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 episode 8 spoilers: Stefan to enjoy being a ripper

Ripper Stefan (Paul Wesley) is going to be much deadlier and ruthless in the upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries."
Fans of the CW series will see the Salvatore brothers back in their ripper days as they fulfill their contract with Cade (guest star Wole Parks). Stefan agreed to do the punishment to save Caroline (Candice King) and Alaric's (Matthew Davis) twins. It was actually Sybil (guest star Nathalie Kelley) and her siren sister who were supposed to spend the years serving the devil. Their plan was to make the witch twins their substitute. Stefan had to step in alongside his brother. As seen on the promo for the episode titled "We Have History Together," they will be Cade's "errand boys." Stefan as a ripper is as deadly as he was so many years ago.
In the teaser, Stefan even rejects Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) offer of friendship. Perhaps because he is finally free from Sybil's mind control, the Salvatore vampire wants to make amends for his major gaffe. Stefan, however, is focused on doing a good job as Cade's minion. He promised Caroline it would only take a year. He plans to fulfill that vow and give her the wedding she dreams of.
Viewers who are hoping for a happy ending for the brothers should not be overly worried about the boys, though. Executive producer Julie Plec has hinted that everything is going to be okay for Stefan and Damon in the end.
"One of the benefits of knowing that you're going to the end is that you can finally take relationships and deliver them to their endpoints. Stefan and Damon have had a lot of back-and-forths over the seasons - where they stand with each other, how deep their love and commitment for each other is - and this season we'll take that, explore it to its fullest and resolve it," the EP revealed.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 8 will air Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
