'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 episode 5 spoilers: A Salvatore will die

Only one of the Salvatore brothers may survive in the upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries." Who between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will get to live another day?
In the episode titled "Coming Home Was a Mistake," the synopsis (as per CarterMatt) reveals that the others have already given up on Damon. The Salvatore vampire looks to be completely under Sybil's (Nathalie Kelley) control that there is no hope left for him. Damon's newest assignment from the siren may be the last thing he will do once Stefan and the others catch up to him. Stefan will reportedly make "a gut-wrenching decision" that will change his life and his brother's forever.
As per the promo, Stefan is telling Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Caroline (Candice King) that there is no more reasoning with Damon. According to him, Damon must be taken down as soon as possible. He also tells his fiancée that he may do something that she will not forgive. Stefan then states that he will probably lose Damon forever once it is done.
In the clip, Damon continues on his path of self-destruction. In one scene, he is telling Stefan and the two others to take their pick on the freshly dug graves in front of them. He says that is where he will bury them once he succeeds in killing them.
At the end of the teaser, Stefan is seen holding a revolver that he is seemingly pointing at his brother. Damon is also shown locked in a glass chamber. Will this be the end for him? Stefan has always loved his brother, even when things were bad between them. Has he finally given up?
Meanwhile, Bonnie (Kat Graham) believes there is still hope for Enzo (Michael Malarkey). Caroline will try to help her friend find ways to break through to him.
"The Vampire Diaries" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
