"The Vampire Diaries" is coming to a close with only two episodes left in season six. With Jo and Alaric's wedding, Elena's exit from the show and Steroline's future hanging in the balance, what can followers of the supernatural series expect?

In the season's penultimate episode, Jo and Alaric will finally tie to know, noted SpoilersGuide. In episode 22 named "I'll Wed You In The Golden Summertime", Elena and Bonnie do their best to help a stressed out Jo with the last-minute wedding preparations.

While their wedding will be the highlight of the episode, Damon's decision to become a vampire will also take precedence. After Stephan learnt that his older brother is contemplating taking the cure, he takes Damon on a road trip. This trip is meant to give him some perspective on his future with Elena. It is no secret that Stephan is against Damon taking the cure since both Elena and Stephan know that he loves being a vampire. In the promotional clip, Stephan is seen getting into Damon's mind and showing him his life with Elena. Needless to say, the version is anything but pleasant.

Caroline will return to Mystic Falls after dealing with the fallout of her humanity-free rampage and she begins to come to a realization regarding her and Stephan's prospects of being together. Steroline fans will be disappointed to learn that the two do not hookup just yet. Executive producer Caroline Dries explained to TVGuide that Caroline is deeply ashamed of her actions and when she is drowning in guilt, a real relationship with Stephan isn't possible. Also, Bonnie starts to have vivid nightmares that Lily is coming after her, leading her to enlist Matt's help to take down Damon's mother.

The season finale will see Kai and his mutant vampires escaping from the 1903 prison world. Damon will also make the most difficult decision of his life. Since actress Nina Dobrev is leaving the CW series, Delena fans should brace themselves for disappointment.
