There are some actions made out of pain that sometimes, they become too hasty, and Elena (Nina Dobrev) is finding this out the hard way. In the first few episodes of 'The Vampire Diaries' season 6, Elena wanted to erase Damon (Ian Somerhalder) from her memory and asked Alaric to do so.

Alaric has made it clear to Elena that he cannot give back her memories once they are erased, but Elena being in so much pain, still wanted to eliminate Damon from her mind. Now, Elena is regretting her decision as she risks her life just to get the lost memories back.

Since Damon has returned from the limbo that he and Bonnie were trapped in, Elena has been having slight touches of memories, but she is wondering why her feelings are telling the opposite.

In the Nov. 13 episode of The Vampire Diaries, Damon took Elena down memory lane as he tries to remind Elena about their love lost in the land of forgotten (or erased) memories.

Damon and Elena's reunion was an uncanny event as it happened right smack in the middle of Elena's date with her new fling, Liam. Damon then says something dramatic to Elena which makes her decide that she wants to bring back the memories.

The two heads to the border of Mystic Falls, where Elena attempts to cross the line, but Damon pulls her back to save her life.
