Stephan and Caroline are finally together, just not in the way most fans would've wanted. For starters, both have their humanity switch turned off and now that Stephan made Caroline care less about getting caught, things are about to get bloody.

The upcoming episode's synopsis, as revealed by Buddy TV, makes it clear that Steroline goes on a bloody rampage and leaves a trail of bodies at Whitmore. In "I Could Never Love Like That", Stephan and Caroline literally paint the college red in order to satiate their insatiable appetite for blood. The only one who can save him is his long lost mother, Lily Salvatore, so Damon concocts a rather risky plan to get Stephan to turn on his humanity switch. Christian Today reports that Elena does not want things to go wrong between her boyfriend and his mother. She wants his second chance with her to go right. However, Damon being Damon, insists that Lily is nothing but a tool to get Stephan back.

The carnage of bodies leaves Jo and Elena in charge of the hospital and Elena discovers Jo is pregnant. Her pregnancy triggers Elena to re-examine her own life as a vampire. Elsewhere, Sarah manages to turn tables with Enzo, forcing him to open up about his tragic past to her. Matt and Tyler want to have some fun when they go to a place called Scull Bar to karaoke, but things take on a dangerous turn when the two inadvertently become involved with Stephan and Caroline. They decide Matt and Tyler's fate based on a coin toss.

Actress Annie Wersching, who plays Lily's role, shared a spoiler of episode 18 in an interview with TVLine regarding Damon's plan. She said, "It's actually Damon's plan to have mama be the thing to help Stefan out of his humanity-off phase. That doesn't necessarily mean things go according to plan, but that's the idea. ... She tries her best to be what her sons want her to be, but she's a very different woman now."

Fans are also wondering who Damon will give the cure of vampirism to: Elena or Stephan?
