The CW has released a sneak peek for "The Originals" season 4, featuring a five-year time jump from the events in the season 3 finale. The preview reveals what happened to Marcel (Chares Michael Davis) after stabbing Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in the previous season.

It can be recalled that in season 3, Marcel stabbed and buried Klaus behind a wall. He also tried to kill Klaus' siblings, Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Freya (Riley Voelkel), but Freya managed to bring her brothers into a different realm, while Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) tried her best to find a cure.

One of the scenes in the trailer shows Hayley transforming Elijah into a gigantic werewolf, who then wrestles with a group of humans. In another scene, Marcel tells Klaus how he was able to take New Orleans away from him. Apparently, Marcel is now the most powerful in New Orleans after stabbing and burying his mentor in the previous season.

As for Klaus, the preview shows him experiencing hallucinations and calling for Camille (Leah Pipes). As Camille heeds his call, she suddenly appears behind Klaus and tells him, "I'm here." According to University Herald, it is possible that Camille might just have been made up by Marcel to toy with Klaus.

Meanwhile, other spoilers for the upcoming season suggest that Hope (Phoebe Tonkin) will finally discover that Klaus is her father as Hayley tells her the truth about her family. Fans speculate that Hope will be the key in making the Mikaelson family whole again as she finally fulfills her destiny as the hope of her kind.

In the new season, Hope will have her own storyline and will come face to face with her biggest enemy just yet. There are speculations that Klaus, Elijah and Hayley will team up next season to ensure her safety.

"The Originals" will return on Friday, March 17, at 8p.m. EST on The CW.
