'The Originals' season 4 air date, spoilers: Hayley helps Hope adjust to her powers

(Facebook/cworiginals)Hope has grown up in "The Originals" season 4.

Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will be the sole adult who will supervise her daughter's progress in the upcoming season of "The Originals." With the Mikaelsons all out of action, the werewolf will have the huge responsibility of ensuring that Hope grows up well in the CW series.

Last installment, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) got his revenge by getting rid of the Mikaelson siblings. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is destined to spend eternity, writhing in agony because of the Tunde Blade embedded in his chest. Freya (Riley Voelkel), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) were all supposed to die, but the witch used a complicated spell and sent their souls in a different realm. Their lives are now tethered to Klaus, which means they will die when he does. Marcel's first love, Rebekah (Claire Holt), on the other hand, will not be able to help since she has to deal with her own curse.

Hayley, together with Hope, was forced to leave New Orleans to escape Marcel. She has to protect the sleeping vampires until she can find a way to bring them back. Spoilers claim that this will take a while and that mother and daughter will endure the passing of time without any huge progress. Hope will grow up and Hayley will be the only one to see her change.

Previously, rumors about the CW series looking for a child actress 6 to 9 years old surfaced. Simply tagged as the "young daughter," the girl should be a brunette or at least dark blonde as per Blasting News. Sources claim the character is a grown-up Hope and it appears that they are correct.

Recently, it has been announced that Summer Fontana will play the role of an older Hope. Tonkin spoke about the little girl in an interview during the recently held Comic-Con. She said she is excited to see how a grown-up Hope will fit in the new storyline. The actress also teased that the girl would bear a striking resemblance to Klaus, not only in looks, but in temperament as well.

"I'm excited to see what kind of personality this little girl has. Even though she hasn't been around her dad for the last five years, I think there's a lot of Klaus in her — good or bad — and I'm excited to see that in this little powerful witch," Tonkin told TV Line.

"The Originals" season 4 is expected to return midseason next year.
