After it was speculated that Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) salvation in "The Originals" season 4 may be in the hands of Caroline (Candice King), the recent episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 suggests that there may be no more chance for the two characters to reunite as Caroline finally accepted Stefan's (Paul Wesley) proposal.

In last week's "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 2, fans were elated when Stefan finally proposed to Caroline, which the latter accepted. However, despite the engagement of the two beloved characters, not everybody is happy as, after all, fans of Klaus and Caroline, otherwise known as "Klaroline," are still not giving up their hope for a reunion between the characters despite being in two different shows now.

To the uninitiated, Klaus and Caroline endeared themselves to the viewers of "The Vampire Diaries" in the past because of their undeniable chemistry and on-screen romance. However, when Morgan decided to leave "The Vampire Diaries" to top-bill its sister series on The CW, "The Originals," many fans were left broken-hearted.

After it was announced that "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 would be its last, some thought that King would have more time now and can cross over to "The Originals" upcoming season 4. In fact, it was heavily rumored that Caroline would rescue Klaus from the ordeal that he has been put through in "The Originals" season 3 finale, wherein a curse put him in a suspended and agonizing pain.

Despite Stefan and Caroline's imminent wedding, though, there are still those who believe that there is still a good chance for "Klaroline" to happen once more. After all, according to observers, happy endings don't happen in "The Vampire Diaries'" Mystic Falls. Hence, nothing is certain between the relationship of Stefan and Caroline yet, despite being engaged already.

Is there still a chance for Klaus and Caroline to continue their aborted love story, despite the latter's engagement to Stefan? Will Stefan and Caroline's wedding push through?
