'The Middle' season 8 episode 7 spoilers: Frankie gets the silent treatment from Axl
Axl (Charlie McDermott) continues to ignore Frankie (Patricia Heaton) in the upcoming episode 7, titled "Look Who's Not Talking," of the eighth season of the American family comedy series "The Middle."
On the next episode, Frankie is ecstatic with the great finds she discovers, which include a new discount store that sells oddly shaped fruits and vegetables. However, it seems like sharing her excitement with Axl has no use. She is saddened by Axl who refuses to talk to her or respond to her text messages. She notices that her son's behavior started after she expressed how she truly felt about April (Greer Grammer) in fornt of him
Brick (Atticus Shaffer), on the other hand, has a new quirky tick of repeating phrases and he also ends up in detention. Meanwhile, Brad (Brock Ciarlelli) decides to give Sue (Eden Sher) a surprise by visiting her college in the weekend.
In a previous interview with CBS, Heaton had hinted that the current season is going to be the best yet of the series. The "Everybody Loves Raymond" alum also shared how hard it is to put a show on air and to keep it there. She shares that the charm of "The Middle" is the central characters' way of paying attention to the fine details in life and, because it is specific, parents can easily relate to them.
"I think not a lot of middle American families are represented on TV the way the Hecks represent them," she said. "They don't shy away from daily struggles, and yet they find the joy in the simplicity. They find the joy in the kind of community you find in small towns."
Meanwhile, the previous episode, titled "Thanksgiving VIII," saw Frankie keeping April out of their family Christmas photo after she felt that Axl's girlfriend is not good enough for him.
"The Middle" season 8 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
