'The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure' release date delayed again as Dylan O'Brien is still unwell
Although it was already reported months ago that "The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" will not arrive in theaters on its original schedule, which is supposed to be next year, there are now rumors circulating that the movie's release date will be moved anew as its lead star, Dylan O'Brien, is still not fully healed.
However, it seems that rumors claiming O'Brien is still not in his tip-top shape are baseless as the actor has already been spotted filming his scenes, not for "The Maze Runner," though, but for the MTV series "Teen Wolf." Based on the Instagram post of "Teen Wolf," it can be said that O'Brien has fully recovered and is ready to resume his show biz commitments.
For the uninitiated, O'Brien figured in an accident while filming his scenes for "The Maze Runner 3" when the driver of the vehicle he was climbing miscalculated his move and paused ahead of the vehicle trailing him where the young actor was harnessed. According to a report of Sugar Scape, the accident caused O'Brien concussion, facial fracture, and lacerations.
Because of the accident, filming for "The Maze Runner 3" has been indefinitely postponed, while its release date has been moved to Jan. 12, 2018 from the originally slated Feb. 17, 2017.
With O'Brien back to filming his scenes for "Teen Wolf," though, it is now assumed that he is fit enough to go back to work and resume his scenes for "The Maze Runner 3," too. With this, it is believed that the movie will push through with its arrival in theaters in 2018, much more that there is no official announcement that its showing date will be moved anew.
Meanwhile, speaking of "Teen Wolf," it has just been announced at the still ongoing San Diego Comic-Con that the upcoming season 6 of the series will be its last. According to reports, "Teen Wolf" showrunner Jeff Davis revealed at the event that the MTV series will return in November with its 20 new episodes and will take a bow after its 100th episode.
"I know we're sad about it and it's bittersweet but we're so happy to be able to come to Comic-Con and share it with you guys," Davis said.
