'The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure' rumors: Dylan O'Brien not returning to the set?

(Facebook/Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials)It is said that Dylan O'Brien will finish working on his another movie, "American Assassin," before resuming his scenes for "The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure."

Although Dylan O'Brien is well and good after his freak accident last March and has already resumed working for MTV's "Teen Wolf" season 6, the latest in the rumor mill is that the actor is not returning to the set of "The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure."

According to the latest in the rumor mill, O'Brien is leaving "The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" because of his badly fractured and damaged face caused by the horrible accident he got into while filming a particular sequence in the said movie back in March. Reports claim that the actor was harnessed at a vehicle while attempting to climb another one in front of him. However, as the vehicle he was harnessed to slowed down ahead of the one he was climbing, he was dragged underneath it.

The incident caused O'Brien serious facial lacerations, concussions, and fractures.

However, as the actor has already filmed his scenes for the MTV series "Teen Wolf" season 6, it's unlikely for O'Brien to leave the set of "The Maze Runner 3" for the rumored reason that his face is still severely damaged. In fact, some months ago, a fan of the actor posted a picture of her along with O'Brien as he dropped by the place where she works at a crew, Jamba Juice, to get himself some refreshments. Aside from looking heavy, the actor looked fully bearded, presumably to hide his facial scars and other traces of the accident.

It was also reported earlier that O'Brien cannot be expected to return immediately to the set of "The Maze Runner 3" because he would star in another movie, "American Assassin," and finish it before heading to the set of the third "The Maze Runner" installment.

Other sources claim that O'Brien will return to the set of the said movie next year, with an original showing date of February 2017 that has been pushed back to January 2018.
