'The Maze Runner 3: Death Cure' rumors: Dylan O'Brien still waiting for result of filed legal action before returning to set
As Dylan O'Brien has already recovered from the horrific accident that pushed him to take a mandatory break from his projects, many thought that the production of "The Maze Runner 3: Death Cure" has already resumed. However, the latest in the rumor mill is that filming of the said movie will resume in 2017 as O'Brien is said to be waiting for the legal actions he filed against Fox to progress before agreeing to return to the set.
To the uninitiated, O'Brien figured in an accident that resulted in serious injuries while filming a scene for "The Maze Runner 3: Death Cure" back in March. According to earlier reports, the actor was harnessed to a vehicle while climbing the other one in front of him. However, the driver of the vehicle he was harnessed to slowed down ahead of the one he was climbing, prompting him to fall and be dragged under it.
The accident left O'Brien with concussion, facial fracture, and lacerations.
After months of recovering, fans thought that O'Brien was already back in the set of "The Maze Runner 3: Death Cure," much more there are reports claiming that he has already started filming his scenes for the last season of the MTV series, "Teen Wolf," where he plays the role of Stiles Stilinski. However, according to sources, filming of the movie will not resume until 2017 as, allegedly, O'Brien is still waiting for the outcome of the legal action he filed against Fox, the producer of "The Maze Runner 3: Death Cure."
However, there are also those who believe that the very reason why "The Maze Runner 3: Death Cure" has not resumed filming yet is that they may be allowing O'Brien to finish filming his scenes for "Teen Wolf's" last and final season, which is already scheduled to begin airing this November. It is speculated that O'Brien may just take a short break after finishing his scenes for the said MTV series and will soon go back to the set of the movie.
"The Maze Runner 3: Death Cure" is slated to arrive in theaters on Jan. 12, 2017 after its original date of February 2017 was moved due to O'Brien's accident.
