Nintendo is still mum about the official release date of the much-anticipated action-adventure game "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U, but it is still rumored to come out within this year.

In Nintendo's recent investor's meeting report, it was stated that the Japanese gaming giant were able to ship more than 30 million little toys as of the third quarter of fiscal year 2015-2016. These little toys is the main protagonist named Link from the "The Legend of Zelda" series.

The report further noted that in the third quarter alone, it recorded a sale of 9.9 million, ranked at the top spot in the US and second spot in Europe.

However, the supplementary report only mentioned the year, which is 2016, of the "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U's release. This has made some other fans believe that the game has a lesser chance of coming out this year. Fans are also expecting for the game to be available in other different platforms.

In mid-2015, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime told IGN, "In separate interviews [Shigeru] Miyamoto has reinforced that it's a 2016 game, and I also believe he's reinforced that it's a Wii U game because I know that there is that thinking floating around".

"The Legend of Zelda" is set in "a fully connected overworld," resembling the original Zelda title but with less spotlight on entrances and exits to the dungeons, according to separate IGN report.

Navigation in the overworld is limited to travelling on foot and through Link's horse Epona. The said horse is programmed to avoid hindrances automatically so players will be able to concentrate on other missions. The overworld is reportedly going to be the largest ever in the Zelda series.

Meanwhile, "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD" is slated to release for Wii U platforms on March 4 for $49.99, Twinfinite reported. For the said game to be playable in the said console, players are required to free some space.
