'The Legend of Zelda' for the Wii U release date updates: Nintendo preparing for E3 2016 presentation this June; release date announcement coming?
"The Legend of Zelda" for the Nintendo Wii U console has been a long time coming. Even with a supposed 2016 release date, updates for the upcoming game have been quite meager. "The Legend of Zelda" fans were also disappointed when Nintendo decided to forgo E3 last year.
Now, it seems that Nintendo is planning to make it up to its most loyal players. According to Neal Ronaghan, contributing writer at Nintendo World Report, Nintendo may be planning something special for E3 2016.
"And don't expect any Zelda news out of Nintendo soon. Everything I've heard points to a Zelda blowout at E3. Only 2 months away," Ronaghan tweeted earlier this month.
While Ronaghan seemed to possess some insider information for "The Legend of Zelda" for the Wii U, he revealed that he didn't want to ruin the surprise. Based on his other replies, he also seemed to hint at a likely "The Legend of Zelda" game title for the highly anticipated Nintendo NX console.
With "The Legend of Zelda" for the Wii U already nearing completion, it could be possible that a release date will finally be announced. As the game has been in development for years, players are hoping to be blown away when it releases. Earlier this year, game producer Eiji Aonuma hinted at a massive open-world environment.
"A huge, seamlessly unfolding world is something that can't be achieved if the hardware isnt advanced enough. Evern since we made the very first generation of Legend of Zelda games though, we've had as large a world as cab ne realized with the hardware, so you could say it was inevitable that we've now done the same with the new Wii U title," Aonuma told Gamereactor.
"The Legend of Zelda" for the Wii U is still currently slated for a 2016 release date. Meanwhile, the E3 2016 will take place from June 14 to 16, 2016. Hopefully, more information will be announced during the annual trade fair.
