'The Incredibles 2' news: Film is set for a 2019 release; director hinted plot twists

In October 2015, Disney Pixar officially announced on Twitter that "The Incredibles 2" will hit the big screens on June 21, 2019. By the time the movie is released, 15 years will have passed since the first film came out. But that has not totally killed the steam of anticipation among fans.
Now that details and spehculations are coming up, movie enthusiasts are more excited than ever.
Director Brad Bird, who is returning to handle the sequel, revealed to IGN that he liked the idea of focusing the storyline on the individual characters but needed "something more substantive to hang it on."
"I think that I've found that and now I'm at the point of seeing if I'm right," he added.
It must be recalled that the first animated-movie revolved around the family as a whole and how their superpowers affected their relationships with each other. With Bird's statement, audience may expect a more individualistic approach to each of the character, especially the Parr children.
"[In] this movie... you don't have... the kids discovering their powers. That's a wonderful thing to have in a movie and you can't have that in this one, they already know, so you have to move the story ahead," admitted Bird to IGN.
In December last year, rumors had been floating around that baby Jack-Jack will suppose to have grown up and possess powers of his own. In the first film, his abilities, which include shapeshifting, teleportation, floating, shooting lasers and turning into fire, were already revealed. Rumors have it that Jack-Jack will be a lot fiercer.
Since the little guy has rebellion tendencies, fans predicted that he might turn into the dark side and fight his family.
Samuel L. Jackson's character, Frozone, was confirmed to be returning for the sequel as well. "[H]opefully Frozone is still alive and kicking, and looking for his super suit, so we can get this back on," Jackson told IGN.
Three years more and these speculations will finally come to light.
