'The Incredibles 2' latest updates: Creator Brad Bird confirms sequel; says enough left over material from original to make second movie

"The Incredibles" creator Brad Bird has confirmed that he is writing a sequel for the popular animated movie.
Released in 2004, "The Incredibles" is an animated movie that revolves around a family of superheroes and their struggle to keep their identities hidden in a suburban neighborhood. The "Tomorrowland" director has finally confirmed that his next movie will be a sequel to "The Incredibles."
Bird, who wrote and directed the original film, has admitted that it has been a struggle to create a sequel for "The Incredibles". When Collider asked him how much writing had been completed, he said, "Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages. I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn't enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie."
Fans have already begun speculating about the possible new developments in "The Incredibles 2". Since the original movie was released 11 years ago, one storyline could possibly revolve around the youngest son, Jack jack, who was a toddler in the original film. There are speculations that Jack jack will be taken as an apprentice by a still unknown villain due to his inability to cope with his powers.
There's no word yet if the previous cast members will lend their voice to their characters in "The Incredibles 2". But in a recent interview, Samuel L. Jackson, the voice behind Frozone, had said that he has been waiting patiently for Disney and Pixar to greenlight "The Incredibles 2" and hopes to still reprise his character.
As of now, there is no word on a possible release date for "The Incredibles 2", since it is still in the early stages of development. Fans can only wait patiently for more information to be released about the upcoming movie.
