The Good Wife season 4: will Kalinda Sharma escape prison time or get a better job offer?
Kalinda Sharma has been a pivotal character in "The Good Wife" and when actress Archie Panjabi announced her departure from the show, a thousand hearts broke. The ace private investigator is known for her saucy and controversial hook-ups, fashionable boots and conniving mind. While there is no telling how her character will depart from the show, following seem the most likely ways that Kalinda will leave the show:
1. Gets sentenced to prison: When viewers last saw "The Good Wife", Kalinda offered Lemon Bishop a favor in exchange for protecting Cary in prison. It seems Lemon will call upon Kalinda for that favor and it may not be legal. She may be a scapegoat in the Lemon Bishop case, according to TVLine, or ends up taking the fall for Cary and implicates herself in the case, as predicted by Bustle. Either way, Kalinda going to prison is the most promising exit strategy.
2. On the run from the police: In season four, Kalinda's estranged husband Nick appeared to spruce up the storyline but was hastily written off. It was implied that Kalinda killed her husband. What if his body is unexpectedly discovered? Obviously, Kalinda will be the first suspect of her estranged husband's murder. This would mean she would hurriedly crack open her wall safe where she stashed her cash and guns and flee.
3. Gets a better job offer and higher salary: Kalinda may quit if she gets a better job offer and a higher salary. She was on the verge of quitting in the past and Alicia and Cary clearly don't have enough money to hire Kalinda.
4. Dies shockingly: While this may be unlikely, it is possible that she dies in an unexpected manner. The writers are not shy to kill off characters in the past, so why would Kalinda be an exception? However, killing off a character is highly common in script-writing and may not suit the show's suspense-filled storyline.
Another theory suggests she may just mysteriously disappear without any explanation. The only way to know how she exits is by tuning in to "The Good Wife" on March 1.
