Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) will weather life's challenges together in the new season of "The Fosters."

Talks of divorce last installment made the fans worry about the couple's relationship. Lena felt their differences were becoming irreconcilable. Stef was against the split, of course, telling her wife they need to stay together for the sake of their love and their children. A new set photo of Stef and Lena cuddling and looking happy tease that everything is okay between them. They need each other's support to face what is coming for them in the new episodes. It has been teased that the Fosters will probably experience their most difficult trials yet.

It was a scary moment for the viewers when the final minutes of the previous season showed all the Foster children in various states of trouble. Jesus (Noah Centineo) was unconscious after a fight with Nick (Louis Hunter). Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) was becoming too dependent on drugs, while Brandon's (David Lambert) Juilliard dreams were in shambles. Callie (Maia Mitchell) was in a car with a possible murderer.

Executive producer Peter Paige previously revealed that the Fosters would stick with each other in these trying times.

"There are challenges, like there are in any relationship, that are never going to go away. Stef is always going to be impulsive. That is the nature of who she is. She is quick to react and quick to act. Lena, on the other hand, is considerate. That is who she is by definition. She is thoughtful. And that's going to be a constant struggle for them. ... They have their challenges, but I wouldn't worry a whole, whole lot that they're going to break up," the EP teased to TVLine.

"The Fosters" season 4 will air Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 at 8 p.m. EST on Freeform.
