'The Following' Season 3 spoilers: Mike taken hostage by Theo; showdown may see character die

"The Following" had shocked fans when Joe Carroll, Ryan Hardy's enemy, finally met his end on his execution day after much drama. Now, without Joe, Ryan and his team must eliminate a new threat in the form of tech-genius Theo.
FOX will treat fans to a double bonanza yet again by airing a two-hour episode on Monday. In the upcoming episodes, the promotional clip shows a hostage situation in which Mike is held at gunpoint by Theo. In the opening scenes, Mike asks Ryan if he would be able to live with himself if Gwen or Max were killed. Mike's comments were spurred by Hardy's reckless behavior and continued downward spiral. Seasoned viewers are aware that Ryan isn't his best self and his reckless behavior has been bought on after Joe's death.
Mark, Daisy and Theo take Mike hostage, while Ryan holds Theo's foster-sister Penny hostage. This double hostage situation leads to a deadly showdown where at least one character fails to come out alive. Hollywood Hills reports that Mark and Daisy will discover information that leads them closer to the FBI than ever. A deadly deal is made, but things don't go as planned, forcing Ryan to take a decision for his future.
Design & Trend speculates that Hardy's decision may force him to leave the FBI, or a reckless action on his part could impact his career adversely. Whatever Ryan's decision may be, it will only make things worse for his future.
Unreality TV notes that a new big bad will be unveiled in season three's finale episode. The series is also being renewed for a fourth season despite declining viewer ratings. Watch who dies and whether Mike survives on "The Following" airing on Monday, May 11, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX, with the season wrapping up next Monday, May 18.
