Actress Candice Patton addresses fans worries over the love story of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton) in the upcoming season of "The Flash."

There will be a reset moving forward to "The Flash" season 3 as a result of Barry's emotional decision in the cliff-hanger finale episode of season 2. Viewers are left to speculate on the relationships Barry has formed in the last two seasons, including that with Iris.

In an interview with Newsweek, Patton said, "Fans are anxiously waiting to figure out if West/Allen has been erased. I think fans can rest assured, we've established this on this show, Barry and Iris have a relationship that's destined. They'll find each other on different timeline and multiverses."

Season 1 showed that Barry has been in love with Iris but the latter could not get past seeing him as the brother she never had. When Barry's mother died and his father was wrongly convicted, Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) took custody of him. In fact, Iris was engaged to someone else and would have married him had he not died. However, through it all, the future reveals that they would still end up together.

Season 2 introduced the multiverse and in the previous season, viewers saw that in Earth-2, Barry and Candice were married. Barry briefly dated someone else but after realizing that in doing so he endangers his loved one's life, he ended the relationship. On the other hand, Iris initially refused to go out on dates and when she decided to do so, she realized she's in love with Barry.

In the penultimate episode, they decided to give their relationship a try. What would have been the start of a lasting relationship is now uncertain when Barry's grief over his father's death caused him to make a decision he might regret.

He went back in time to save his mother which means everything the viewers have seen since the show started will be changed. Will he and Candice be together as soon as season 3 premieres? Or will Barry have to fight for lady love again?
