'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date update: Launching day still indefinite; Next entry may be priority over HD remasters of 'Oblivion' or 'Morrowind'

The follow up on the hugely successful, critically-acclaimed "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" isn't definite yet but video game developer Bethesda is brave enough to ensure to its fans that "The Elder Scrolls VI" will more likely be the priority over the HD remasters of "Oblivion" or "Morrowind."
PCGamesN reported that Bethesda is speculated to be leaning towards the completion of the fifth installment's HD version and its successor than getting to the route of remastering some of its oldest games, namely: "Oblivion" and "Morrowind." Both games have been introduced in more than 10 years ago. Accordingly, conjuring up such work is akin to creating an entirely new game.
In an interview with Finder, Bethesda's vice president for marketing Pete Hines has opined, "An Oblivion remaster is an interesting idea, but it is a 10-year-old game and Morrowind is 14. With Oblivion, you are talking about several engines ago. So gamers were like, 'Why didn't you do Oblivion HD instead of Skyrim HD?'"
He added, "So the question becomes, should we work on a Morrowind or Oblivion remaster, or should we work on Elder Scrolls VI?"
It would be interesting to note that the video game developer is mentioning more the iteration's current and future marketing plans than its former entries.
The Elder Scrolls is a series of action role-playing open world fantasy video games that are being developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media. The remaster of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," "The Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Special Edition," is set to be released later this year via PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
