Hulk Hogan's $115 million win has made people curious about his financial status and reports are documenting his rise and fall and rise again.

Wrestling superstar and actor Hogan is reported by Celebrity Net Worth at $25 million prior to winning the case. While Gawker is making moves to appeal the decision, a total of $115 million in compensatory damages have already been ruled in Hogan's favor. $60 million is payment for emotional stress and an additional $55 million is for economic injuries. An additional payment for punitive damages is expected to be decided upon by the juries next week.

The amount depicited in the verdict is bigger compared to Hogan's initial demand, which was $100 million. Hogan sued Gawker over a sex tape released by the latter in 2012. Ars Technica reports that the video was filmed about a decade ago. Hogan revealed that it was a troubled time for him and his then wife Linda Claridge and added that it was Todd Clem himself who offered his wife to him.

Perhaps Clem had already thought of making money out of the famous personality as it was later revealed that it was Clem himself who recorded the act. It is noted that while Hogan insists he didn't know about the recording, Clem has given conflicting statements about it.
Hogan was recovering from a bankruptcy at the time an edited version of the tape was posted by Gawker. He was the host of Wrestle Mania when edited versions of the tape were leaked by Gawker

The video that was shared many times on social media is 1 minute and 41 seconds long. There have also been excerpts released where Hogan is heard saying he is disappointed by the relationship of his daughter to a black man and has made several racist comments. This cost him his job as he was fired by WWE in July 2015.

Hogan is one of the most famous wrestlers in history and one of the few who have successfully crossed over to entertainment. His recent legal battle seems to be his biggest victory to date.
