(Facebook/The Blacklist)Is Mr. Kaplan alive? Find out in 'The Blacklist' season 4B

Following the big reveal that Red delivered in the previous episode of "The Blacklist" season 4, it seems that fans are in for more shocking revelations when the show returns.

The series has been teasing fans on social media over the past few days to give them some appetizers before the ninth episode airs in January. One GIF image hints that something may happen to Red (James Spader) in the upcoming episode. The image sees Liz (Megan Boone) staring at Red's hat which has been left on the floor. Is this the end of Red's life?

However, the biggest tease was unveiled on Monday through a photo that features Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert). Though there were no announcements made about the said image, fans are thrilled to see the show releasing photos of a supposedly dead character.

Red killed Mr. Kaplan after they finally got Liz back in the previous installment. He has never been someone who takes betrayal lightly and was deeply affected by Mr. Kaplan's decision to side with Liz when his good friend knew all along that he only wanted to protect Liz from Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen). Mr. Kaplan wanted to help Liz in her own way though and this resulted to her death.

In the final seconds of the clip, Mr. Kaplan's hand grabs the grass

On the other hand, after Red shot Mr. Kaplan, an intriguing part of the scene should be remembered. When Red walked away, Mr. Kaplan's hand moved and grabbed on to the grass above her head. Did she survive the shot? Where has she been hiding all this time? Will she show up in "The Blacklist" season 4 episode 9?

Meanwhile, a teaser for the second half of "The Blacklist" season 4 hints of what fans should expect now that Red has revealed the truth about Liz's paternity. However, there are still doubts circulating in the fan base. Did Red tell the entire truth this time or did he just want to get rid of Kirk? Fans may get the details after the hiatus.

"The Blacklist" season 4 returns on NBC on Jan. 5, 2017.
