The Blacklist" provided a wonderful and suspense-driven episode before Easter as Red was shot towards the end of the episode. A sniper was aimed at him when Liz gave him the Fulcrum. Although it seems unlikely he will die, a near-death experience always creates ample drama.

When "The Blacklist" returns, it will show Red fighting for his life. Hs vulnerability is exposed in this fragile state. In the upcoming episode's description by SpoilersGuide, Red pleads Liz to track down a mysterious man from his past known as Nicholas Caul. This man has knowledge of the Fulcrum. The team has to race against time in order to locate this man before Red's life is threatened again. Red is even seen in the promotional photos pointing a gun in his hospital bed. Who is determined to kill him? The episode's summary also states that Tom will provide help in an unexpected manner.

Liz will really have to step up this episode and fill the space left by Red. The episode's name is "Leonard Caul". Creator Jon Bokenkamp spoke to TVLine regarding the events after Red's shooting. He made it clear that Red's condition is more touch-and-go than audiences think. He explained, "We pick up immediately, in the moments of the shooting. Dembe was being shot at, and Red's bleeding on the ground, clearly wounded in a horrible way. (Red's condition) creates a void, and Liz is going to have to step up and fill the space that is occupied by Red and work through this situation."

Of course, seasoned members of the audience know that Liz is a tough lady, having lived with a career criminal father who abandoned her as a child. Fans are also raring to know why Red hired Tom to enter Liz's life and why he has her picture in his apartment.

Episode 19 airs on Thursday, April 23 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
