'Teen Wolf' season 6 spoilers: Mason fights for Corey

(Facebook/TeenWolf)Mason and Corey are still together in the new season of "Teen wolf."

Mason (Khylin Rhambo) will continue his relationship with Corey (Michael Johnston) in the upcoming season of "Teen Wolf."

As the first openly gay character in the show, Mason's introduction last season was well-received by many fans of the MTV series. He was the star of one of the biggest storylines featured, when the werewolf pack went against the legendary Beast of Gévaudan. It was discovered that Mason was the host of the fabled werewolf and the one who was causing much terror in Beacon Hills. Mason could have died with the true human form of the beast, but Lydia (Holland Roden) saved the day.

With her banshee cry, she was able to separate Mason from the beast's form before it was killed. The last time viewers saw Mason, he was at the library with his boyfriend, Corey. It remains unclear what creature Mason has become after the incident. He may have turned into a full-fledged werewolf or become a normal human once again. Whatever form he may turn out to have, the one thing that is sure about him in season 6 is that he is still determined to work things out with Corey.

Rhambo shared (via Entertainment Weekly) that "the stakes are higher" for the couple in the new installment.

Meanwhile, Tyler Posey, who plays the Alpha, Scott, is set to direct an episode. Although the promo for the upcoming premiere appears to center on Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) and his encounter with the Ghost Riders, Scott's storyline is expected to take the spotlight once again as he leads his pack to the next adventure.

The actor has recently admitted that he turns emotional every time the end of the show is mentioned. The MTV series will be airing its final season.

"It's become such a second home to me. I would stay for hours after work. I spend more time with these people, 17 hours a day, six months out of the year, for seven years...I'm really gonna miss having that second home," Posey shared in the same EW interview.

"Teen Wolf" is expected to return on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
