'Teen Wolf' season 5 news and spoilers: Tyler Hoechlin won't be returning, more Stiles-Scott bromance; Stydia plays detective
Fans of the popular werewolf-centric show are raring for "Teen Wolf" spoilers, news and a specific release date. The good news is that the cast and crew of the show revealed many spoilers at the PaleyFest in LA.
The first spoiler, as reported by TVGuide, is that actor Tyler Hoechlin will exit the show in season five. Hoechlin plays Derek Hale, who transformed into a full-blown werewolf at the end of season four. However, he won't be going the Allison Argent way and, while he isn't present for season five, it doesn't mean he will be gone forever. Executive producer Jeff Davis said, "You've not seen the last of Derek Hale."
Fortunately, viewers will get to see more Stiles and Lydia action. While Davis didn't say anything on a possible romance, he did mention that the two will be playing detective. The pair will take a trip to Eichen House in season five to interview someone. Fans would definitely like to see their ace investigation skills put to the test.
Malia, the wild were-coyote, will be living in with Stiles and her adoptive father won't mind. In fact, seasoned viewers should expect to see more of Malia's adoptive father in the upcoming season. Also another focus of season five will be Lydia. The banshee took a backseat in season four but she will be back in season five. She will be central to the storyline. While fans are rooting for Stydia, Davis teased that Lydia would romance someone unexpected. He said, "(Lydia) may not end up with the person you think she does at first."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Scott and Stiles' relationship will also be focused on this season as the two are in their senior year. As college looms near, bromance stays strong between the pair. Davis joked, "The real romance on the show is a bromance." Another interesting spoiler is that Kira will take her sword and own who she is. Additionally, the official Teen Wolf Twitter account announced that season five premieres on June 29, 2015.
