'Tales of Berseria' news: New characters and Mystic Artes introduced
With the Japanese release of "Tales of Berseria" continuing to inch closer, Bandai Namco is also sharing more details that can provide fans with a better idea of what to expect.
Recently, the game's developers showed off two of the new storyline characters that players will soon encounter.
First off is Melchior, and he is a highly skilled arte-wielder from the organization known as The Abbey. Melchior also possesses ties to the powerful head of the exorcists known as Artorious, and players will likely be seeing his artes in action firsthand inside the game.
Another NPC that players will encounter is Shigure Rangetsu. Similar to Melchior, Shigure is also from The Abbey and he is also related to one of the playable characters in "Tales of Berseria" as he is Rokurou's brother.
Speaking of Rokurou, Bandai Namco has also given fans a quick glimpse at one of the Mystic Artes that he will be able to use inside the game.
In a post on the official "Tales of" blog, developers shared screenshots of Rokurou's Mystic Arte named "Form Zero: Void." The screenshots show Rokurou wielding his different blades to slash through the enemy.
Also included in the post are screenshots of the Mystic Artes that will be used by Eizen and Magilou.
Eizen's Mystic Arte, known as "Perfect Mayhem," has him charging furiously at his opponents as he lands continuous blows that can put an opponent to rest.
For Magilou, she will use the Mystic Arte "Ascending Angel" to deal massive damage to her enemies.
Similar to earlier "Tales of" titles, playable characters inside the game will likely have more than just one Mystic Arte, though the more powerful ones may also be more difficult to unlock.
"Tales of Berseria" is set to be released in Japan on Aug. 18, while fans in North America can expect to get their hands on the game early next year.
